Def Lep's sound mix was Horrible
Before, I have seen Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics and the sound was much better. Joe Elliott sounded like he was in a tin can this time. They took the high pitches and turned them all the way down, and turned the mid-range levels down while leaving the bass up. I asked myself "what the heck is that?" when he started singing the opening song. The only thing I can think of is that they wanted to screw the sound up so that people didn't record with their phones and post it on You Tube or the such. The amount of bass and lack of high tones would have screwed up any attempts to record, I could almost guarantee that. I understand their concerns with that, however, they have to take care of their fans that paid a pretty penny for their tickets to see and hear them live. Tesla and Styx, their opening acts, both sounded fabulous. Styx performance was actually much livelier and the sound much much better. The greatest part of Candlelight: A Haunted Evening of Halloween Classics's performance was Rick Allen's drum solo. It was pretty disappointing outside of that.
